What can the Skills Academy do for you?

The Skills Academy can offer you relevant training and education whether you are:

  • struggling to break in to the financial services industry
  • returning to work in the industry
  • an employee already working in the sector

The Skills Academy has national centres of excellence in skills training and development across seven regions of the UK.

We work with the industry, for the industry to ensure that the curriculum for learners is adapted to fill the skill gaps established by financial services employers.

Entering the financial services industry

The Skills Academy works to increase the quality of learners by providing an insight into the wide range of career pathways available.

We offer a range of industry qualifications from professional bodies such as the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute), and the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment) as well as broader business qualifications such as a the National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS) leadership and management programme.

We also offer full-time qualifications including BTECs, Diplomas and NVQs as well as specially developed Apprenticeships and foundation degrees. Study can be part-time or full-time. We also offer personal finance and financial literacy courses for a wider audience.

As part of the NSAFS’ agenda to introduce new talent into the industry, we work on stimulating internships and work placements for new entrants into the financial services industry.

A better skilled workforce

The Skills Academy offers quality training and the most relevant qualifications that cover the required financial business skills and sector knowledge. This includes customer service skills and knowledge of compliance and regulation.

Existing employees in the industry will be able to update their skills through clear progression paths. Training solutions have been developed by working with employers from many different areas of financial services resulting we are continually expanding our offer.

In this way, the NSAFS can ensure that we offer training which is dynamic and more responsive to their needs.
